🚀 Gigantic FSD licensing potential

Plus: BYD's pickup, AI talent wars, Tesla India and more

Hey S3XY 🧤, In multiple ‘X’ posts, Elon yet again confirms that FSD will eventually be licensed to other auto manufacturers without giving his ‘infamous’ timeline though.
From OEMs perspective it makes huge sense as capital costs, technological know how, huge real world data to train neural nets seems almost impossible for anyone, which leaves them with only option to either license FSD from Tesla in some form or left out completely from the world of smart and autonomous mobility.
This licensing of Full Self-Driving (FSD) technology would eventually become a determining factor for the success of legacy auto giants, enabling them to stay relevant in the evolving landscape of autonomy.
Elon also mentions that over long run FSD licensing could be larger than Tesla’s auto manufacturing business.
And some other highlights from today’s letter 📨:

  • Audi CEO on EVs and autonomy.

  • Apple hunts for new playground.

  • Korea gets refreshed Tesla.

  • Model Y price cuts.
