Hey S3XY 🧤, Tesla’s Business Development head Rohan Patel confirmed that despite recent DCAS regulation updates, FSD’s system initiated maneuvers wouldn’t be allowed to any extent which practically kills the core of using FSD in first place.
The way updated regulation works is that the driver would need to approve of almost every significant maneuver or set of maneuvers.
Broader conclusion is, whole ecosystem and regulators would need to update the regulations so as to make use of true autonomy and Tesla seems to be working alongside regulators to break the FUD but it looks like a long journey for now.
